Complex & existing assets
Structured assessment and engineering advice where incomplete records, operational constraints or phased improvements need careful consideration.

Project requirements (Complex & existing assets)
Existing buildings and facilities often evolve over time. The available documentation may not fully describe the current arrangement, and a proposed change can affect several systems at once. A scoped investigation helps the client understand what is known, where the gaps lie and which decisions require further evidence.
Key engineering considerations
- Establishing the available information and assessment boundaries
- Connecting site observations with the documented design basis
- Identifying interactions between existing and proposed systems
- Planning further investigations and proportionate improvement work
- Coordinating client insurer requirements with the applicable prescriptive design basis
Coordination with client insurers
FESOL works with the client and its insurers or appointed risk engineers to identify insurer-specific fire protection and loss-prevention requirements alongside the applicable prescriptive requirements.
We review risk-survey recommendations and coordinate the proposed design, upgrade priorities and supporting information so that insurer expectations are addressed in the agreed scope. Requirements, decisions and outstanding matters are recorded for confirmation by the relevant parties.
A useful starting brief
Explain the decision you need to make and provide available drawings, reports and maintenance information. Confirm access restrictions, the intended future use and any known performance concerns. Include insurer risk-survey reports, recommendations and any specific fire protection requirements.
